People can be surrounded by faces in the street or at work, going about their business, yet still feel very alone in their circumstances. When someone walks by and smiles genuinely, even says g'day or hi, it really makes a difference to your day if you're having a downer or you're flustered and busy. It gives hope that something better is on the horizon, and that things aren't that bad.

Destigmatization of Mental Illness
Why I did it:
I smile at people all the time, especially older people or homeless people because many people just ignore them. It costs nothing and makes someone else feel good. Plus I like when people smile at me!
Why I did it:
because it is the simpliest way to make others feel better, including yourself
