Amicus Green Building Center in Kensington, MD does a great job of stocking up on the latest products. After researching materials online, it was nice to be able to go in and see all of the samples in person. They also offer diy classes and design consultation. Check them out if you're in the area:

Sustainability

Even the tiniest action toward sustainability makes a difference.

What is sustainability? It's living in such a way that everyone on the planet, and everyone in the next generation not yet born, can enjoy the earth just as much as we can.

Pondering what this means, I realise that I am still a million miles from this goal. I recycled all my incandescent bulbs and bought and installed 30 compact flourescent ones. But everyone in the world can't do that, I mean not only would we have to build more glass factories, but we'd need hundreds or thousands of additional power plants to power 100 billion additional bulbs.
