Connections in Three Dimensions

I am thinking of approaching the NetworkWeavers about a specific project on "tools for social purpose organizations" - essentially a web 2.0 solution to transparency in accounting, transparency in decision making, connections across interest and expertise, and local organizing and the planetary mind.

There is a group of software developers working under the name Source Tree Commons that I have been working with around these needs. To the extent social purpose organizations seek open source solutions to their communication needs, that benefits open source developers. To the extent open source developers focus on the needs of social purpose organizations, the resources available for building networks to accomplish goals and promote causes is expanded. That sets up a feed back loop that gets more open source software and more social purpose accomplished.

web 2.0 transparency

Source Tree Commons

Promoting social purpose
