More about New Beginnings

Our Work

Physical:
New Beginnings will assist in meeting the food, medical, clothing, housing and life needs of the people living on and around the garbage dump. Daily and weekly provision of milk, diapers, vitamins, and food will be provided. Individuals and families will be provided the services of a doctor or dentist as needed. Homes will be repaired or constructed as required. Household items such as stoves, refrigerators, beds and mattresses will be supplied.

Educational:
New Beginnings will provide tuition, uniforms, shoes and school supplies to children as needed. As opportunities arise, New Beginnings will provide schools with needed supplies. A commitment to education, by the families of the children and by the community, will be encouraged and supported. English classes will be provided.

Spiritual:
Bible studies and discussion groups will be provided. Church services will be provided as available. New Beginnings volunteers will display and demonstrate the love and heart of Jesus Christ at all times.

Community:
New Beginnings will support the local community through repairs, construction, education and sharing of the gospel. Individuals will be encouraged and equipped to seek employment other than working on the dump, through vocational training or assistance in obtaining documents or certification. These individuals may then assist in bettering their own community through their exposure and experiences. New Beginnings will work cooperatively with other groups and ministries already working in the community.

Looking for a Short-term Missions Experience?
New Beginnings will host visitors to Puerto Vallarta, who will accompany New Beginnings volunteers to the towns surrounding the garbage dump. The visitors will assist in meeting the food, water, medical, clothing, and housing needs of the people living on and around the garbage dump. As well, New Beginnings will encourage and enable visitors to volunteer at other locations, such as orphanages, daycares, safe houses etc. in the Puerto Vallarta area, to help prepare visitors for other works of service.
