Northern Uganda has been affected by civil war which has lasted for over two decades. The war has had devastating effects on the livelihoods of people in the region and reduced their social and economic lives to a bare minimum and severely hampering other developmental programs in education,family and health. The war has also led to a great loss of many lives,maiming and abductions. Having been forced to many Internally displaced persons camps (IDPs), the people found themselves in squalid conditions which in effect undermined them of their health and morals,deadly diseases such as AIDS has claimed so many lives.In the middle of all these are the innocent children whose future has beed seriours jeopardised. Thousands have lost their parents or guardians directly to the war or indirectly due to diseases as a result of poor living conditions and they are left without anybody to take care of them. They lack the basic needs of life like food, shelter, education,clothing, and health care.The family structure of extended family which traditionally used to take care of such orphans has been totally destroyed.Fears,bad memories and deprivation continues to plague these children. Many Non Govenmental Organisation (NGOs) have really tried to help in variours ways. The govenment has also contributed, though to a lesser extend. But there are still thousands of orphans and abandoned children not all of which can be absorbed in these NGOs.These are faced with untold suffering like starvation, poor shelter, poor health, trauma, Hopelesness and a feeling of being unloved and abandoned fills their lives.

It is againts this background and deeply moving personal stories told by some of the children and my experience with the very few of which I personally help,that I feel these children be afforded better living conditions to reinstate hopes for their future and future communities as a whole. This cause seeks the assistance of persons, groups or organisations whose hearts sorb for the plight of any child in need to come up and help. The cause intends also to work alongside other organisations already helping, to rehabilitate these children by relocating them to a new place to experience a new life.

Children are the future of tomorrow, lets help them to reach that tomorrow.
