How the Contest Works

To be entered in the Good Travels contest, entrants must first click the “Get Started” button on any contest message on the Razoo.com site. If the “Get Started” button is not clicked, the entrant’s progress won’t be tracked, and thus the entrant won’t be qualified for the contest.

After officially entering the Contest by clicking the “Get Started” button, the entrant must complete four Roadmarkers. The Roadmarkers are:

1) Complete your profile. Create an account, upload a photo, and fill in at least four sections of your profile.

2) Join a Cause. Browse through Razoo, exploring the many causes created by our community. Find one you’re interested in, and join it.

3) Do an Act. There are many ways to make a positive difference in our world. Browse through the Acts on Razoo, and do one! Remember to click “I Did It” to record your action.

4) Join the Good Travelers Group. Meet other people who share your passion for travel, and tell us where you’d want to go and why. This doesn’t officially declare where you’ll go if you win – you’ll have time to explore the options and choose your official destination if you’re the winner of our Grand Prize Drawing.

The winners will be chosen via a random drawing on January 18, 2008. Once the winners have been validated, they will be announced on the Razoo.com website. Winners will be contacted via email to notify them of their prize, no later than January 25, 2008.

Upon notification, winners will have 30 days to respond to Razoo in order to claim their prize. Failure to respond (via email or phone call) means that the winner forfeits his/her prize and Razoo will award it via another random selection from the qualified participants.

Increase Your Chances of Winning

You can increase your chances to win the contest, and you can even be guaranteed to win a prize. Here's how:

1. Tell a friend.
For each friend of yours who enters the contest, you'll get two more entries into the contest. So you start with one entry, and if one of your friends joins the contest, then you'll have three entries; if two of your friends join, you'll have five entries; etc.

To receive credit for the additional entries, your friends must indicate that you were the person who told them about Razoo. To do this, they should choose "other" when prompted to answer how they heard about Razoo, then type in your name.

2. Be guaranteed to win!
You can also be guaranteed to win a prize. We've added a bonus XO Laptop and Flip Ultra Camcorder to our prize pool, so the person who recruits the most friends will win the bonus laptop, and the second-place recruiter will win the bonus camcorder.

Additional entries will be tallied after the contest has closed (midnight, January 18, 2008).

Prizes

(1) Grand Prize Winner will receive: A $5000 trip-for-two, to be chosen from ResponsibleTravel.com’s “good travel” trips. This includes ResponsibleTravel’s volunteer travel options, their cultural travel options, and their “learn something new” travel options. If the winner finds another trip on ResponsibleTravel.com that qualifies as “good travel,” (i.e., an opportunity to do good in the world), Razoo will be happy to consider this option.

All travel arrangements are the responsibility of the winner, and the good folks at ResponsibleTravel.com are available to help find and book the perfect trip. Razoo will contribute $5,000 towards the cost of the trip for two, and this should cover most of the trips that are available. If the trip costs less than $5,000, the balance will be given to the winner to be used as spending money on the road. Any travel expenses above $5,000 will be the responsibility of the traveler.

(5) Second prize winners will receive: An XO Laptop. This includes a laptop for the winner, plus one donated in the winner’s name to a child in a developing nation. This is made possible by the One Laptop Per Child initiative. ($400 value)

(10) Third prize winners will receive: A Flip Ultra Camcorder. ($169 value)

(2) Bonus prize winners will receive: An XO Laptop or a Flip Ultra Camcorder. These will be given to the first and second place recruiters, respectively (i.e., people who got others to join the contest)

Eligibility

With the exception of Razoo employees and their immediate family, anyone may enter the contest. Entrants must have completed all four Roadmarkers as of 11:59pm on January 18, 2008 to qualify to win. Winners will be randomly selected from all qualifying entries. Winners will be notified via email by January 25, 2008.

Only one entry (i.e., Razoo account) per person is permitted. Multiple entries created by one person are not allowed. Winners must validate their entry by supplying proof of identification when claiming prizes. Razoo is not responsible for and will not consider incomplete or incorrect entries as potential contest winners.

Razoo reserves the right to disqualify any Contest entrants for a breach of Contest Rules, or any offense/violation of the website as outlined in the Razoo.com Terms of Service.

Winners may not request substitutions of prize winnings. All winners are solely responsible for any and all taxes and/or fees, and all such additional costs that may be incurred.

All winners must be 13 years of age or older. If the winner of the first place $5,000 trip-for-two is under the age of 18, the winner must be accompanied on the trip by a parent or legal guardian.

Liability

Razoo and/or its parent company may not be held liable for any warranty, costs, damage, injury, or any other claims incurred as a result of usage of a prize. Razoo and its parent company are not liable for any loss arising out of or in connection with or resulting from any contest promoted by Razoo.

Employees of Razoo and its parent company, and their immediate family members are not eligible to win this contest.

Void where prohibited.
