There is more than enough food in the world for the entire human population but over 840 million are still hungry.

Resources that could be used to grow food for people are being used to grow crops for farmed animals. It takes up to 16 pounds of grain to produce 1 pound of edible animal flesh. If everyone received 25% of their calories from animal products only 3.2 billion people could be nourished, 15% would increase those nourished to 4.2 billion and if everyone went vegan, there would be more than enough for the world's population-over 6.3 billion people.
