Founded in 1998, Solar Household Energy introduces solar cooking technology in developing countries where it can add quality to life and relieve stress on the environment. Solar Household Energy’s approach, based on the principles of sustainable development, emphasizes building partnerships with small entrepreneurs, NGOs, and voluntary organizations to enhance community capacity. Since its founding, Solar Household Energy has served as a technical resource to small scale solar cooking promoters in The Americas, Africa and Asia. In 2004, Solar Household Energy completed the design and arranged for the manufacture of a unique solar oven, the “HotPot,” to fill a key niche for an economical, yet durable and powerful solar cooking device. Currently, Solar Household Energy implements solar cooking programs in Latin America and Africa.
