ABOUT US /ORGANIZATION INFORMATION


The MYFSFoundation is a Non Profit Non Governmental Organization( NGO), and has been incoporated with the Organization Code 1963 Act 179 Government of Ghana.It is a Community Based Organization (CBO) established in 2001 with its Head Quaters in Accra, Ghana, West Africa.The MYFSFoundation has made a good reputation for its self in the field of Human Services, Human Resources, Social Works, Economic/Community Development in meeting the needs of Disadvantagded children, youth, families, individual adults and deprived communities.It also considered as one of the most competent NGO;S of the country and Africa because of its significant change and long -term impact. Our programs are integrated into larger strategies with continous change and carefully designed to meet the needs of the poor people we serve.The success we have achieve is as a results of Good Leadership and Hard work by our dedicated team made up of the Executive Council/Board Directors,Management/staff,Commitees,Volunteers,Teachers and trainers of Trades.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1. To take care of needy street Children and Youth, and to endow Technical Vocational Training Centers to help educate and train them with employable job skills for self- reliance and employment and also help brilliant but needy youth to achieve thier highest potential, develop creativity,,meet their needs and actively contribute something better into thier communities.

2:Maintaining a liaison with International Agencies and seeking thier Technical and Financial supports in an effort to invest in the field of Human Development and Social Welfare

3 .Providing Clean Drinking Water in poor communities to save lives.

4. Helping poor and low income families and Homeless Individuals by providing such programs as Emergency Shelters, Hostel Shelters, Low Rental accommodations,affordable Housing,Transitional housing,Housing counseling and providing orther services to help them gain self-sufficiency in life

5 Partening with other diffrent Non Governmental Organzations so as to serve people and take part in Social Welfare activities

6 .Promoting high quality job-creation and training activities for Women , ie, promoting economic and Empowerment with businss training and sponsorship

7.To arrange Lectures, Seminars and symposia for character building and Leadership Development of Youth and People

8. Promoting public education and awareness involving the Youth /Students about seriuos and grave social problems like: Atmospheric polution, Insanitary conditions, Environmental polution, population explosion, Water polution and contermination, and HIV/AIDS

9. Providing Technology Access -computer Training & Internet for Poor communities and its vonurable members.

MISSION STATEMENT: Committing to work for lasting improvements in meeting basic human needs of Disavantaged Children, Youth, Families and Individual Adults so as to save the poor people in society and to end poverty.

PRINCIPLES AND PHILOSOPHY: The significant of education fo sustainable development to achieve progress on our way to sustainable society nationwide and world wide plays today a more important role.

THE GOVERN BOARD DIRECTORS/EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

The Millennium Youth and Family Foundation Inc. (MYFSFoundation) has a board of Directors made up of the Executive Council and Executive Mnagement/Key Officials who meet regularly to take policy decisions and assess the organization against the key operational and and performance parameters. All the activities of the Foundation are guided by a Board of Directors/ Executive Council.

BOARD COMMITEES

In line with good governance, the Board has the following committees:

FINANCIAL COMMITTEE : comprises of the President, Financial Officer, and some volunteers of Financial experts who sees the finances, supervise the financing,accounting and banking system.

AUDIT COMMITEE: this committee made up of Non Executive Directors ,reviews and makes recommendations to the board on all aspects of the audit and financial reporting process.

SRATEGY COMMITTEE: Chair by the President , the committee has a responsibility for defining srattegic options that should be pursued.

ACADEMIC COMMITTTEE: this comprises of Education/Vocation&School Director, some professional expert of trades skills trainers, instructors and tutors who delibrate on the issues affecting youth/students academic work,performance, examination,and the trainees progress.

MONITORING &EVALUATION COMMITTEE: this committee devlop,set up and maintain effective monitoring& evaluation system and process including determining measurement creteria and standard to provide requsite information on MYFSFoundation programs

BUILDING ,HOUSING AND SHELTER COMMITTEE : This committee consisit of The president, shelter/housing director , some voulunteers of building experts and trainers who delibrate , supervices the organizations;s programs of providing shelters, accommodations and affordable housing for the homeless and low income families

NOMINATION COMMITTEE: this committee is responsible for the recommendation of persons for appointment to the Board as an -non executive director

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE : this committee has responsibility of handling matters that need urgent board attentions outside scheduled board meeting dates.

EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT/KEY OFFICIALS

The day to day management of the MYFSFoundation rests with the President and his key Officials and program Directors. The President /Chairman , Mr Samson Akweson is responsible for the overall co-ordination and supervision of the activities of the Foundation, and report to the Board on the operational activities and achievements of the organization. The President works with the staff and the program Directors as a team and focuses on the creation of comprehensive development to significantly grow the organization;s priorities. Mr Samson Akweson, the Chairman and President ,has been successfully demonstrated Good Leadership and in working relation with the Board members, Program Directors,/staff, Volunteers, Teachers, Trainers and Committees of the MYFSFoundation. He is and Energetic and Vissionary Leader with commensurate experiences in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Financial and Residential Managemnt.

MYFSFOUNDATION PROJECTS:


1: MILLENNIUM TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER ( Disadvantaged Youth and Street children Vocation/Educational Project)
Providing income generating and vocational skills for the disadvantaged Youth and street/at-risk children to help them acquire employable job skills which help them to gain self- sufficiency in life and get better future.

2 : MILLENNIUM HOMES (Homeless Youth , Families and People)
Providing shelters and affordable housing for the homeless and low income families with services to help them gain self-sufficiency.

3 :MILLENNIUM CLEAN WATER ACCESS: ( Clean Water Access Project)
Providing potable drinking water in poor communities in Ghana, and West Africa


4:MILLENNIUM ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT/WOMEN EMPOWERMENT:( Women empowerment/training and sponsorship)

This project seeks to train unemployable women in poor families in Ghana and West Africa with Income Generating Businesses/Vocationals. This helps the women acquired employable job skills which help them to earn income and gain self -sufficiency in life ,support themselves,families and stop selling thier children into Childlabour.

5:MILLENNIUM CHILDCARE CENTERS :( Child Development,Outreach,Advocacy and Care in Ghana and Africa)

This project embrace the plight of the abused children, negleted, child laboures,orphans and children born to poor families by providing them with Foster Homes and childcare centers and also help care for thier needs-feeding, clothing, education, development,healthcare,nutrition and entaertaining.

 

 

MYFSFoundation Public Education Program

The Foundation;s public Education Program explore the issues of Poverty,Street Children, Homelesseness, Hunger,insanitary conditions in poor communities,The Rural -Urban -Drift. and its effects on the, children,youth,families, Rural communities and urban communities as well. Malnutrition, water polution and contermination,dangers of drug abused, HIV/AIDS and the MYFSFoundation helps provide sustainable development solutions.
