The Appalachian Center for the Economy and the Environment is the last line of defense protecting the mountains of West Virginia and Central Appalachia from the ravages of Mountaintop Removal Mining. Because the legislative and executive branches refuse to help, we take coal operators and derelict government agencies to court to protect the mountains, forests, and streams.
