Sustainable Harvest International launched the Smaller World Program in 2004 to increase cultural understanding and empower the global community to create a more equitable and sustainable world.
The program creates direct connections between groups and individuals who support our work and the communities we serve in Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua and Panama. Participants in the Smaller World program develop a relationship with a community for the duration of SHI's program there. They are given the opportunity to directly support our work in that community, as well as take part in service-oriented trips.

Volunteer in Central America with Sustainable Harvest International!
Smaller World Service Trips offer groups and individuals the opportunity to connect to families working with SHI's program in Central America. Our local staff request support for specific projects and we match them with volunteer groups who provide the support and funding to make these project possible. Volunteers work side-by-side with our local field staff and farmers who provide the training and materials they need for their work project.
Travel, experience different cultures and fight poverty and deforestation in Central America. For more information, please visit http://www.sustainableharvest.org/tours.cfm
