Water For People uses water as a catalyst for change in communities that lack access to drinking water, adequate sanitation and hygiene education.
In 2006 alone, Water For People provided more than 98,000 people with safe drinking water resources and/or improved sanitation facilities in Guatemala, Honduras, Bolivia, Malawi, India, and, in 2007, expanded to begin projects in Ecuador, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Uganda and the Dominican Republic.
The DC Committee supports Water For People's vision of a world where all people have access to safe drinking water and sanitation through education, outreach, and fundraising.
A list of the contact information for other state-level Water For People Committees is available online.
