Hello, I'm married with two girls; our youngest is adopted from Ethiopia. they are 10 and 4. I'm a professor and I teach statistics and research methods. My job allows me a lot of freedom to do what I enjoy, and part of that for me is working with community agencies on issues surrounding HIV prevention.

I'm hoping this site will give me some new ideas and opportunities for other ways to contribute to my community and world.

I'm trying to be a good mom, and trying to raise my kids to be happy, fair and just, wise, aware, and to do things in their own world to make it a better place.

not as many places as i'd like!

i've traveled around the US and Canada, and in Ireland, England, Germany, Holland, France and Bermuda. I've been to Brazil (Salvador), and Tanzania (in the Peace Corps), and traveled to Burundi, Kenya, Malawi, and our family went together to Ethiopia (Addis Ababa) for our daughter's adoption.

I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, bike-riding, walks in the woods, walking with our dog, Rosie, and reading. I've been doing yoga for a while now, and I'm trying to get some running in on a regular schedule!

English, and very little of French and Kiswahili.
