Grew up in Manhattan Bch., CA, with two studly brothers and an angel of a sister (great parents too!). Attended Vanderbilt from '00-'04, then spent the next 15 months in Nicaragua with Manna Project Int'l. Started med school in Guadalajara (UAG) in January '06 and have been here ever since.

One of the most powerful experiences in my life was spending 10 days in Lima, Peru, living with a handful of good friends in a shelter for street kids. After developing relationships with the kids and hearing about their lives, it wasn't until I did the research and gave a presentation in class about their situation when the brunt of this current day tragedy hit home.

The experience along with many other opened doors (all credit to the Lord's grace!) allowed me and a few tight friends at Vandy to help start Manna Project Int'l in January '04. We're excited to be 'great grandparents', as the 4th generation of long-termers have recently begun their journeys in Nicaragua.
