My Bio

I'm a senior at URI, majoring in Human Development and Family Studies and minoring in International Development. "My" cause is that of Northern Uganda- I'm actively involved with such groups as Invisible Children, GuluWalk, and Resolve Uganda. I will one day (hopefully sooner than later) go to Africa to volunteer and experience it for myself, hopefully for at least a few months. Uganda is top on my list of "where I want to go" but I'm certainly not limiting my options!

Ways I would change the world

We are all people- we should be one global community. As Brian Andreas says, "I don't think of it as working for world peace. I think of it as just trying to get along in a really big strange family."

Why I Joined: I'd like to go to Northern Uganda, a region which has been ravaged by a 21-year war that finally is currently seeing its best chance for peace yet. I have been touched by the stories of the millions of displaced people and I'd love to meet them myself.

Why I Joined: In a world where people either want to help or don't care at all, there are too many organizations that want to help but don't know how to do it effectively. Invisible Children does it effectively, and that is why I am so actively involved with them.
