Build on the possible ... identify good things and help get them funded ... understand what is bad and make sure these activities do not get funded ... focus on the family and the community ... do things that create value and avoid activities that destroy value ... work on getting corporate profits used for societal good as well as simply being used for the stockholders and management ... hold people accountable ...

Live in New York, but come from the UK.
Have worked or done assignments in some 60 countries over the past 30 years ... and always seem to be learning something new. 26 of these countries have been in Africa.
A big proportion of the people I have come across have been "good" people ... and a few (very few) have been awful.

Family, friends and helping to bring opportunity to those that do not have the opportunity that people in North America and Europe (and some other places) take for granted.
