I have American parents but grew up in England, so my nationality depends on what mood I’m in and where I am… but mostly I reckon I’m English.

Trained as a paediatric nurse and graduated in 2003. My first nursing job was in Uganda and that is where I got a taste for Africa…. And I’ve loved it ever since.

I now work for an NGO called YWAM and work on a project called friend of a friend. This means I am in the fortunate position of being allowed to travel around the world visiting different projects and writing about them. Projects visited are as varied as micro enterprise with the Massai in Tanzania to medical care for the sufferers of Leprosy in India.

I’d like people to hear others peoples stories. A personal perspective to all sides of a story makes you less inclined to take sides. I’d give the quiet voices of reason to a way to speak out, those who live out the choices of people in power a chance to tell their story.

I guess I’d try and change peoples world views, and people includes me!
