Westside Peace Project and VCNV Affinity Group The Westside Peace Project is being born out of a desire to respond to the call raised by Voices For Creative Non-Violence for the citizens of Chicago to become personally involved and take ownership in the Occupation Project and its goals of bringing and end to the Iraq war and occupation. Members of the Westside Peace Project would be expected to: · Plan and participate in non-violent direct action intended to influence members of congress to defund the Iraq War. Affinity Group Roles include- · Communicators/Spokespersons · Documentors · Participants in Civil Disobedience · Press · Jail Support · Action Planners · Arrest Buddies · Abide by the Occupation Project’s campaign rules, regulations, and statutes. · Attend a bi-monthly reading, discussion, and reflection group focusing on the Iraq war, civil disobedience, active non-violence, and other peace and justice issues. For more information contact ASAP (Congress will be voting in September on the 2008 Iraq-Afghanistan War Supplemental) Joshua Brollier joshua.brollier@gmail.com 931-436-3616 ONE IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION- We support our soldiers while remaining pro-peace (and pro-iraqi at that). For a must read on the 2008 Iraq-Afghanistan War Supplemental and its impact on US soldiers visit http://vcnv.org/iraq-and-afghanistan-supplemental-spending-2008 We believe the best way to "support our troops" and is to bring them home from war and endless occupation. (especially this war justified by lies)
