This is a very prime example of a clapboard home on Pine Ridge Rez - it's not a mobile as many are, but a one room home with no electricity, no plumbing and as you can see no real door. Heat is provided by a wood burning stove also used for cooking. With lack of wood, there is no heat in the sub-zero winters and of course, no insulation in these homes. Many have no windows but tarps or visqueen over them where glass might have once been. Some only have blankets over the doors.
