Hello all... I'm a United States Peace Corps volunteer serving in Romania.  Are there any other volunteers on here, or anybody interested in becoming a PCV?  :)  Do modern americans even know what the peace corps is anymore?

peace.

Hi Justin,

Welcome to Razoo!

I'd encourage you to get in touch with Scott Overdyke here on Razoo -- he's a returned PCV, and heads up our Peace Corps efforts on the site.

Cheers,

Rebecca

Hi Justin!

I'm an RPCV (Kenya 06-07) and, no, Americans don't seem to know what PC is at all.  I was accused of being a hippie tree hugger by a coworker this week, when he heard about me being a PCV.

Thanks, Rebecca, I'll go look around for Scott, and see how many of us are on here...

Hello. Also an RPCV (Lesotho 00-02). I think very few people have a real clear idea about PC. Many of my fellow Public Health students have heard we are a bunch of potsmoking burnouts that are running away from something in the US...I am sure there are a few of them out there, but really!?

I'd love to connect with other PCV/RPCVs and hear where the world is taking them.

Hey everyone! I'm a PCV working as a teacher trainer in Ukraine. Because I just turned 60, the comment I get all the time is, "I thought PC was just for young people!" NOT that I don't think of myself a young......I"m just chronologically challenged! I love my work here and am tickled to connect with all of you.

Hello, I just happened onto this site today.  I spent two wonderful years in Lesotho (76-78) and am always excited to talk about Peace Corps.  I am hoping to participate in the World Wise Schools speakers bureau this coming spring in at least one of my kid's schools and raise awareness of Peace Corps and the "rest of the world" out there waiting to be explored.  I am a member of "Friends of Lesotho" and the Gulf Coast Chapter of RPCV"S.

Lumela, Ya'll!

Hi,

I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger, West Africa in the late 1980s. I went back to Niger in 2005 to shoot a documentary about the food crisis there. The title of the film is "Niger: Living on the Edge of Survival". If you feel like it, you can check out film clips on my page.

Have a great day.

PCVs, RPCVs, CDs, (insert any consecutive letters)...

Welcome to Razoo!  I'm glad you're here - this website was made for you and for people like you - I encourage you all to join the NPCA Group here:  http://beta.razoo.com/groups/peacecorpsconnect

I've actually got some questions about the best ways that we, as rpcvs, can help support pcvs in our host countries and stay connected with rpcvs in our area or from our areas of service.

See you at PeaceCorpsConnect!

Scott and the consecutive letters,

I am a nice balance bewteen NPCA and Peace Corps.  I have 15 years experience with Peace Corps issues.  I am also an x PCV.

I will only work for a PCV.  I have no other interests and am not paid by anyone.

This site has alot of impact.

I'm surprised to hear so many people say it seems like others are unfamiliar with the PC. I've thought about joining the PC at some point... it isn't right for me now, but since I'm back in school, maybe when I finish my Master's. Anyway- maybe its the circle I run in, but it seems like everyone I talk to is at the very least familiar with what the PC is, what they're doing, and how wonderful it is.

Peace,

Jen
